 Restoration Hardware Case Study

restoration hardward case study mh division

Customer Benefits:

Productivity improvement resulted in the addition of 44 dock levelers in a cross dock configuration. The job was logistically challenging because every other dock in the 540,000 SF facility had to be dug, poured and installed while the distribution center was still in operation.

Restoration Hardware changed its 420' racking aisles configuration from 9' aisles to 6'-6” aisles and 32' clear ceilings. The problem was the lighting – dark aisles with low foot-candles were installed 10 years ago and did not conform to the new warehouse design. New lighting was added to significantly enhance the overall warehouse and reduce operational costs.

Project Overview:

Indoff was able to install the 44 dock levelers in a three week period. While causing limited down time per given dock area.

700 lights were removed from the 32' ceilings in the dark narrow aisles. (700)  Specialized Westinghouse 2 lamp narrow beam lights were places in the aisles and (300) 4 lamp wide beam lights were placed along the docks and open areas.  The light levels were tripled while the energy consumption was reduced by 53%.

Indoff Partner Bob Barroll provided a very successful solution which improved labor efficiency and reduced costs.
